Andrea Gambadoro was born in Catania, Italy (Sicily) and has been living in London since 2010. With a background in acting and drama, and a lifelong passion for photography, he naturally transitioned into the film and TV industry. His early career began in television as a Runner and Production Coordinator, before progressing to roles as an Assistant Camera and Assistant Director. He eventually established himself as a Camera Operator and Director of Photography, specializing in documentaries, drama, and true crime.
Andrea thrives on collaboration, working closely with clients and creative teams to bring ideas to life through compelling cinematography. His strong organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure allow him to deliver high-quality visuals while meeting tight deadlines. With excellent communication and leadership abilities, he fosters productive working environments on set.
He has worked on a wide range of productions, including high-profile TV series, feature films, and documentaries. His credits include Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted (National Geographic), Great Canal Journeys (Channel 4), John Torode’s Ireland (Food Channel), and Britain by Barge: Then & Now (Channel 4). In the true crime genre, he has served as a drama DOP on series such as Caught in the Net, Feuds, American Monsters (Discovery), Enslaved (CBC) to mention some. He was also the Director of Photography for an episode of Cunk on Earth (BBC) and the feature film Fortunes of War, besides many shorts and another indie feature. Beyond television, Andrea has shot numerous short films, music videos, and personal documentary projects. His shorts "Tataboom" and "Breathe, Try" have also won various awards.
In addition to his cinematography work, Andrea is a certified drone operator, holding a GVC and A2 certificate in the UK and an A2 certificate in the EU. His drone operation credits include The Cleaner, Cunk on Earth, and The Horne Section TV Show.
Outside of work, Andrea is passionate about creating personal projects, including documentaries, short films, and artistic dance videos. He is deeply enthusiastic about TV, cinema, theatre, the arts, and travel.
